BCS mission / vision

The Bureau of Communications Services shall be responsible for the development of communications services and for providing services relating to policy formulation, communication planning, project development, research and evaluation and the coordination of information planning within the framework of the overall thrusts and priorities of the National Development Plan.



Vision


A vital government information arm dedicated to accurate, relevant and responsible communications services in support of the Presidency.


Mission


To continuously provide Government organizations and select groups information on the President’s thrusts, priorities and accomplishment through publications, networking, special events and other communications support services.


Functions

  • Develop and conduct public information campaigns that will enhance awareness to and secure positive public acceptance and support of the programs and activities of the government and the Presidency;

  • Coordinate information dissemination programs and projects including campaigns directed at the Bureau’s specific target publics;

  • Supervise the over-all conceptualization, and production of special Publications and audio-visual information/communication materials for the government and the Presidency;

  • Supervise the conceptualization, production, printing and dissemination of all information/communication materials and publication in support of the government and the Presidency.

  • Intensify public awareness of and appreciation for the programs, projects and activities of the government and the Presidency;

  • Provide and effective vehicle for the government to disseminate information and rally for public support to government efforts in addressing the country’s problems;

  • Translate the national development plan into simple language and encourage the people to participate in nation-building;

  • Project and secure a health confidence in the Presidency and the national leadership; and

  • Encourage the participation of the private sector and the media in the pursuit of national development.

PGMA turns over P50 M check for Mindanao River Basin project master plan

ALABEL, Sarangani -- President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo this morning handed over a P50-million check to Task Force Mindanao River Basin to implement a comprehensive master plan curbing perennial flooding in Cotabato City and the provinces of Maguindanao, South Cotabato, Sultan Kudarat and North Cotabato.

Goverment drops demand for arrest of three rogue MILF commanders; peace talk's resumption seen
